The Inter-school Zonal competitions in Badminton and Table Tennis were held today at St. Peter’s. The Peterites excelled and emerged victorious in the matches!!

We Are the Champions!

The district basketball matches were held in our school on 6^th October 2016. The matches were tough and challenging, but as the title of this article suggests, St. Peter’s emerged victorious in all the six categories that we participated in! This was an unforgettable moment in my life. The matches were tough since the teams from the plains (Dindigul, Theni, etc.) were tough opponents. Our coach, Mr.Joseph was very proud of us when we won the matches. The junior team has won the district title after 7 years! And I am proud to have been a part of that team.

After the district matches, we progressed to the next round which was the Divisionals. The divisionals are only for the Under-17 and Under-19 categories. To the great delight of the whole school, the senior boys team (Under-17 category) won the divisionals and have now moved to the State Level for the very first time in the history of the school!! The matches were thrilling and had a nail-biting finish. We were sad that we lost in the other categories (with close margins) but have hope that we will win it in the next year!

These victories brought great joy to our Correspondent sir, Administrator ma’am, our Director Rohan sir, senior co-ordinator of CBSE Sandra ma’am and all the teachers and students! I hope this winning streak continues in the coming years, since WE ARE THE PETERITES – THE MIGHTY MIGHTY PETERITES!

IGCSE students Grade 10

Our school has four houses named after each season; Summer, Spring, Autumn and Winter. The house which conducted the basketball tournament held on 7th July, 2016 was Autumn house.

Students belonging to all the four houses participated and each house had to compete against each other. This brought out the competitive spirit in us all!

There were a lot of spectators cheering on their houses since it is exciting to watch friends play and compete against each other. The stadium was noisy but fantastic. The atmosphere was electric with the cheers of the students and the enthusiasm of the participants.

The school management had organized the tournament and the participants were duly briefed about the rules of the game.

We witnessed good sportsmanship by all the players which was the best part of the evening.

We finally came to the most anticipated part of the day which was announcement of the results. The tournament had ended with Summer house clinching first place, followed by Autumn house, Winter house and Spring house respectively.

The games were exhilarating and everybody thoroughly enjoyed themselves. It represented what we learn at Peter’s, which is participating is more important than winning or losing. And the spirit of true sportsmanship!

Congratulations to all the four houses for a brilliant game with good team spirit!
