It was now the turn of our North East Students to showcase the speciality of their native. Amidst busy classes, these students contributed extra time to plan, organize and host an evening program called the “North East Night”. The program commenced with a prayer song followed by bible reading. Two students from each north eastern state presented on stage an audio visual presentation of their native states. This included states like Mizoram, Nagaland, Manipur and Meghalaya. The presentations were not only interesting but also very informative. Pictures of major tourist places that had beautiful landscapes enriched with rich nature made the presentation very interesting for the students.
The students sung a song in their native language followed by a special dance. As the program ended with the vote of thanks, all students and residential teachers got to taste north eastern food served by their fellow students dressed up in their traditional costume.
The program ended with a little music and dance with the usual energy & enthusiasm from the students. Amidst the busy schedule, the students made sure that the program was a grand success in all aspects.
Being a reputed residential school, St. Peter’s is a place where students from different states of India and other countries come to pursue quality education. The school also provides various opportunities for the students to learn the culture and legacy of students who hail from different cultural backgrounds which differs in numerous aspects such as language, climate, clothing, food and music. The school consistently encourages the students to take part in various in-house programs that create a platform for these students to get to know each other’s culture better and create a friendly atmosphere among students of different culture.
